All-or-nothing crowdfunding

A smart-contract driven crowdfunding model where projects receive funds only if the targeted funding is met. Otherwise, all contributions are automatically returned. Creators can offer optional reward tiers.

How all-or-nothing works

   A creator registers a project

   The project is minted on-chain with a funding target and a deadline. Its terms are fixed at registration and cannot be changed afterwards.

   Backers contribute

   Each contribution is locked by the smart contract, not held by Reafino. Contributions accumulate against the target as the deadline approaches.

3. 3

   The deadline decides the outcome

   If the target is met, funds are released to the creator. If it is not met, every contribution goes back to its backer automatically. There is nothing in between and no manual step.

What's next

Here is what we're building next. These features aren't live yet, but they will take SmartStarter well beyond the goal-and-deadline model described above.

• Funding released in stages

  Rather than the creator collecting everything at once, funds move in tranches on a schedule fixed when the campaign is funded. Each release goes ahead unless backers object.

• Backers can hold a release

  Every backer gets a say proportional to what they put in. Enough objections halt a tranche, and a supermajority can end a project altogether, returning everything not yet paid out.

• Identity you can check

  A creator confirms who they are before a campaign opens, and whoever reviews a stage does the same each time funds are due. Every confirmation is a permanent on-chain record, tied to that person and verifiable by anyone.

• Fund and pay out in all stablecoins

  DJED is already supported today. The same settlement extends to USDM and every other Cardano stablecoin, so a target does not move underneath a campaign while it runs.

• Running on Cardano mainnet

  SmartStarter will move from testnet to mainnet and handle real value. The contracts will be open source, and the results of their security review will be published.
